As cars get older, the likelihood of breaking down increases - and this can lead to unexpected financial strain on you. Mechanical Breakdown Insurance can provide you with financial cover for repairs, to help minimise this stress.
Equipe - ideal if your car is less than 16 years old and has travelled less than 225,000kms. Provides comprehensive protection in the event of mechanical or electrical failure of your car.
Select - ideal if your car is less than 18 years old and has travelled less than 295,000kms. Provides protection in the event of mechanical or electrical failure of a covered component of your car.
On the Equipe and Select policies you can chose your excess level and we offer a range of cover terms; 12, 24, 36 or 48 months.

Mainstream Insurance – car insurance made easy
If you're buying a car, taking out a car loan or wanting to switch from your existing car insurance provider, we can help you with your vehicle insurance needs.
We offer three levels of car insurance so you can choose the cover that’s right for you:
Full Cover The widest form of cover available, although it cannot protect against every conceivable risk. The main benefits being that it will pay for repairs or the replacement (up to the market value) of your car if it's damaged or stolen, and provide cover for third party liability risks if you cause an accident.
This Full Cover option also includes the additional benefits and protection of:
windscreen and window glass cover, towing and accommodation allowance, Car hire and road clearing allowance, automatic cover for some trailers
Third Party, Fire and Theft In addition to the protection given by third party, this covers loss or damage to your own car as a result of fire, theft, or attempted theft.
Third Party Only This policy provides cover for third party liability risks only. It means that if you cause an accident, the cost of damage to other vehicles is covered.
